Question #32ae2

1 Answer

You need to use the combined gas law

#((p_1)(v_1))/T_1 = ((p_2)(v_2))/T_2#

The temperatures must be absolute....in the given problem...they are already in absolute temp

Substitute the values,

#(1.34 atm )(215 mL)/(297 K)# = #(1.52 atm)(V2)/(339 K)#

then solve for V2,

#V2= (1.34 atm)(215 mL)(339 K)/(297 K * 1.52 atm)#

K cancels, atm cancels,,, this will leave you a unit of volume

therefore, V2 = 216.34 mL
