The formula is $F = m \cdot a$ $F=m*a$
Where $F$ $F$ =force, $m$ $m$ =mass and $a$ $a$ =accerelation.

Fill in what we know:

$F = m \cdot a$ $F=m*a$
$1600 N = m \cdot 40 \frac{m}{s^{2}}$ $1600N=m*40m/s^2$
$m = \frac{1600 N}{40 \frac{m}{s^{2}}} = 40 k g$ $m=(1600N)/(40m/s^2) = 40 kg$

And there we have a problem, because crate+bricks have a mass of only 40 kg while the crate is 150 kg.

I think you missed, or added, a $0$ $0$ somewhere.

Let's make the crate lighter : 15 kg
Then the bricks weigh $40 - 15 = 25 k g$ $40-15=25kg$

$m = 400 k g$ $m=400 kg$
Which would leave $400 - 150 = 250 k g$ $400-150=250kg$ for the bricks
