Take the three other displacement equations with $t$ and eliminate it.

We take these equations,

$v = u + at$
$s = ½ (u+v) t$
$s = ut + ½ at²$

The first equation can be written as
$t = (v-u)/a$

which can be substituted into the second equation
$s = ½ (u+v) * (v-u)/a$

which can be reorganized as
$2as = (u+v)(v-u)$

which, finally, can be reorganized again as
$v^2 = u^2 + 2as$
