Length of the hypotenuse = 92.38 mm
Explanation:
Let one side of the right angled triangle (p) = x mm
Hypotenuse(h) = 2x
Length of the remaining side(b) = 80 mm
We know,
or, h^2 = b^2 + p^2
or, (2x)^2 = 80^2 + x^2
or, 4x^2 = 6400 + x^2
or, 4x^2 - x^2 = 6400
or, 3x^2 = 6400
or, x^2 = 6400/3
= 2133.333
or x = √ 2133.33
= 46.19
Hence the hypotenuse = 2x = 2 X 46.19 = 92.38 mm
