Explanation:

If you were to look at a black hole with stars around it, the light from the stars behind the black hole will appear bent around the hole. This is because some of the light that passes near the black hole gets consumed and some escapes but is bent because the gravity of the black hole is so great. Massive galaxies can bend light too, like the image below, the red galaxy is bending the light from the blue galaxy behind it.
