I actually have to take beta blockers for my heart condition. Basically what they do is block the release of noradrenaline from stimulated nerves in all parts of the body.

Explanation:

Places in which nerves are stimulated are the muscles, blood vessels, and the heart. I'm not sure if there are specific nerves involved other than those that excrete noradrenaline.

Beta-blockers block beta-adrenergic substances, such as adrenaline in the involuntary nervous system.

They slow down the heart rate, decrease the force of contractions in the heart muscles, and reduce blood vessel contractions.
