$\frac{x}{x - 9} - 4 = \frac{9}{x - 9}$ $x/(x-9)-4=9/(x-9)$

$\frac{x - 9}{x - 9} - 4 = 0$ $(x-9)/(x-9)-4=0$

If we guess that $x \neq 9$ $x!=9$ , the fraction will be simplified:

$1 - 4 = 0$ $1-4=0$

$- 3 = 0$ $-3=0$ : No solution

By the other way, if take the value 9 for x we will have a 0 in the nominator and has no solution either.
