multiply BOTH sides of the equation by the lowest common denominator for all 3 fractions. The LCD is 15x

after multiplying both sides by 15x, you will obtain:
$- 8 (3) + 2 (5) = 7 x$ $-8(3)+2(5)=7x$

or
$- 24 + 10 = 7 x$ $-24+10=7x$
which is a nice simple linear equation with NO fractions!
