President Thomas Jefferson learned about the Louisiana territory by sending the Lewis and Clark expedition to explore it.
Explanation:
President Jefferson sent Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore the Louisiana territory recently purchased from France. Not only that, but they explored until they reached the west coast, encountering many Native Americans. Lewis and Clark kept diaries describing the flora and fauna of the western territories. While traveling, they met Sacagawea who was acted as their translator with the other Native American tribes. After returning to Jefferson, Lewis and Clark gave him their diaries so their discoveries could be recorded.
