Where possible I try and avoid decimals. They are quite often not as precise as a fraction.

Write as: $a \times \frac{1}{3.2} = 0.8$ $" "axx 1/(3.2)=0.8$

Multiply $\frac{1}{3.2}$ $1/3.2$ by 1 but in the form of $1 = \frac{10}{10}$ $1=10/10$

So $\frac{1}{3.3}$ $1/3.3$ is the same value as $\frac{1}{3.2} \times \frac{10}{10} = \frac{10}{32}$ $1/3.2xx 10/10 = 10/32$

We now have $\frac{10 a}{32} = 0.8$ $(10a)/32 = 0.8$

Multiply $0.8$ $0.8$ by 1 but in the form of $1 = \frac{10}{10}$ $1=10/10$

So $0.8 \times \frac{10}{10} = \frac{8}{10}$ $0.8xx10/10 = 8/10$
