7(-3y+2)=8(3y-2)

First, distribute the seven and eight.

-21y+14=24y-16

Next, add 21y to both sides.

14=45y-16

And then, add sixteen to both sides to isolate the y.

30=45y

Divide 30 by 45 to solve for y

y=30/45

Simplify! - Both are divisible by 5.

y=6/9

Both are divisible by 3.

y=2/3
