The observable universe has a radius that spans 46.6 billion light years (1 light year = the distance light travels in a year). To travel this distance, you'd have to move at the speed of light (which is roughly 300 million metres per second) for 46.6 billion years. Simply put, the observable universe is unfathomably large .
