Bloody Sunday occurred in reaction to the March on Selma.
Explanation:
During the year 1965, Selma, Alabama, was made the main focus of evangelism by Rev. Martin Luther King's Southern Christian Leadership Conference, or SCLC. In March of 1965, protesters making their way from Selma, Alabama, to Mongomery, Alabama, were resisted by local authorities as well as state authorities. Bloody Sunday (March 7, 1965) refers to this interaction between the 600 people crossing the Edmund Pettus Bridge en route to Montogomery and the authorities and troops who were trying to stop them using force in order to end their march for voting rights.
