Identify that the equation is linear.

There are no exponents or radicals involved.

You can pick two arbitrary values for #x# and plug them in; plot the points; and draw a line connecting the two.

Or, you can set #x# and then #y# to be equal to #0# and solve to get the two possible intercepts.

#(0)=-x+5#

#x=5#

#P_1=(5,0)#

#y=-(0)+5#

#y=5#

#P_2=(0,5)#
