Where do we find animals called bear?

Bear is a wild animal.

Explanation:

Because bear is a wild animal, we cannot have it in our home. Otherwise, we will be killed and eaten by a bear. On the other hand, cows, horses, and donkeys are domestic animals. They can live attached to us, and can serve us.
We can get close towards domestic animals. But, we should go far, and quickly (without hesitation) from wild animals, such as bears, and lions.

Let us first consider classification of bear: These are mammals included in order Carnivora, family Ursidae . It is a small group of large bodied animals, included in five genera.

Now note names of the animals (considered as bear):

• Spectacled Bear of South America- these are living in desert conditions (of Peru) to cloud forests ( of Andes) and are able to climb trees.
• Sloth Bear of Indian subcontinent- they feed on termites, honeybee colonies, and fruits.
• Sun Bear of Southeast Asia- it is the smallest in size in bear family, living mostly in tropical forests.
• Black Bear of North American continent- very large, omnivorous animal living in cold forested areas of rough terrain.
• Brown Bear of North American continent- distributed throughout North America and Eurasia, and is very big in size. Earlier their distribution range was upto Africa but it has shrinked considerably.
• Polar Bear of Green Land- largest and heaviest among bears, threatened terribly by global warming and melting of polar ice caps: these are spending more time in arctic sea and also on sea ice. It is carnivorous, hunting seals from water.
• Giant Panda of China- unique carnivorous animal which lives only on bamboo shoot, hence entirely herbivorous. They eat in very large quantity but can absorb very small amount of nutrients from ingested food. They are shy breeder.

Bears are widely distributed (except in Antarctica and Australia) but their number is decreasing rapidly, due to habital loss and also due to climate change. Friction with human communities are on the rise.

Bears are terrestrial but prefer to live near water bodies. They are mercilessly killed for their fur, skin and claws. They find dens for themselves, and some of them hibernate. Bear has no natural predator in wild, though it has an enemity with tigers.

Trained bears were used to entertain people; they are popular characters in children's literature.
