Explanation:
Whether or not you can apply your findings to your target population. If you can then your findings are genralisable, if not they are ungenralisable.
Other useful words are:
Validity - If it test what you set out to test e.g. there is not point in looking at ice cream sales when you want to find out which is the most popular dog food
Gynocentric- Mostly women are used so you may not be able to apply your findings to men
Androcentric- Mostly men so may not be able to apply findings to women
Reliability- Whether or not you can do the same test and get the same results
Ethnocentric- Only one culture is used so can not apply to others
Extraploation- If animals are used then you may not be able to apply the findings to humans.
