In plants, mitosis only occurs in the meristematic tissue.
Explanation:
The meristems of a plant are located at the tip of the stems and roots. The plant grows from there as this is where cells reproduce.
Apical meristems help the plant grow taller while lateral meristems make the plant grow wider (from side stems).
