UV radiation damages the DNA in the skin cells

Explanation:

The sun emits EM radiation at various wavelengths. Within these wavelenghts is visible light and UV. This UV can damage cells and the DNA in the cells. When this DNA gets damaged (like strand breaks and chemical changes within thymine) various processes will be disrupted. Some parts of the DNA can't be copied in the case of the thymine fusing with other thymine.
