Let the number be $x$ , then

Two more than the number will be $x+2$

The product of 7/8 and the number will be $7/8 xx x$

And 15 less than the product of 7/8 and the number will be :

$7/8 xx x -15$

Therefore according to given statement, the equation will be:

$x+2 = 7/8 xx x-15$

Solving it:

$=> x-7/8x =-15-2=-17$

$=> x xx 8/8-7/8x = -17$

$=> 1/8 x = -17$

$=>x= -17 xx8$

$=> x= -136$
