Plants are living and use cells such as chloroplast to make energy where as solar panels do not use cells.
Explanation:
Plants make energy through the equation: Glucose + Oxygen -> Carbon dioxide + Water + Energy and use living cells such as the aforementioned chloroplasts to make its energy. Solar panels do not need glucose, oxygen or carbon dioxide to produce energy.
