$a = 3$ $a = 3$

$x + y = 2$ $x + y = 2$
$\Rightarrow y = - x + 2$ $=> y = -x + 2$

Comparing the above equation by $y = m x + c$ $y = mx + c$ we get,

$s l o p e = m = - 1$ $slope = m = -1$

Now, here, slope of the line by 2 points is given by,

$m = \frac{y_{2} - y_{1}}{x_{2} - x_{1}}$ $m = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)$

As I stated earlier,
If the slope of the lines are equal, then the line are parallel or coincident

The value $a$ comes out to be as $a = 3$
