Alveoli are the microscopic end sacs of the lungs.
Explanation:
In land vertebrates lungs are the structures of respiration. Lu gs consists of a branching tubes carrying air up to alveoli. Alveoli are the end sacs. These have very thin walls surrounded with blood capillaries.
Alveoli wall is one cell thick permeable to respiratory gases. Through thin alvoli wall oxygen and carbon di oxide the respiratory gases are exchanged.
