Humans secrete enzymes, like peptidase, amylase and trypsin, to digest various constituents present in food as it passes through the alimentary canal (extracellular space). Similarly, fungus secretes enzymes, like cellulase, outside of the cell to digest cellulose of the leaf and use the valuable contents in the environment.
Both fungus and we use small projections like bodies to assimilate nutrients.
After the proper breakdown of the food into small compounds which can be assimilated are then taken up by the human using microvilli and hyphae in fungus.
