(Cot theta - tan theta)/ (cot theta + tan theta

=>(Cos theta/sintheta - sintheta/Cos theta)/ (Cos theta/sintheta+ sintheta/Cos theta

=>(cos^2theta - sin^2theta )/(cos^2theta + sin^2theta

=>(cos2theta)/1

=cos2theta
