Whenever there's a negative value in the exponent... it means.... inverse it
2^(-2)=2^(-2)/1=1/(2^2)
It is taken like that because you can take it as one big inverse proportion or something....
10^2=10xx10
10^1=10
10^0=10/10=1
10^-1=10/100=1/10
