What is the universe composed of?

Matter and dark matter, of which we know hardly nothing.

Explanation:

The visible aspects of the universe are made from matter, the same stuff that makes the things around you now. This matter is composed of many different elements and the elements make particles. Atoms are pure elements but can be broke down farther into several smaller pieces,

However, a very large portion of the universe is most likely made up of what we call dark matter. As of now we know very little about it and the information we do know about it is too complicated to explain in simple terms.

Matter

Explanation:

You and everything else in the universe are made of matter. Matter is anything that has volume and mass. On Earth, matter usually exists in one of three states:

  • Solid
A solid is a type of matter that has a definite shape and a definite volume. Rocks and minerals are solids.

  • Liquid
A liquid is matter that has a definite volume, but not a definite shape. Earth’s oceans, rivers, and lakes are liquids.

  • Gas
A gas is matter that has neither a definite shape nor a definite volume.

Most of Earth’s atmosphere is composed of the gases nitrogen and oxygen. Though matter can be classified by its physical state: solid, liquid, or gas, it is more useful to look at its chemical composition and structure.
