Within a Group.
Explanation:
Elements within a group show trends in reactivity and properties.
Group 1 metals all react simikarly e.g. reactions with water. These are not identical but similar. Physical properties also show a trend.
The chemical reactions are governed by the fact that the elements all have one electron in their highest occupied energy level.
Examples: lithium, sodium, potassium.
