When we have a negative sign in front of parenthesis like we do here, we can just assume that this is a -1.
So, instead of:
-(3x+7) + 2...
Think of it like:
-1(3x+7) + 2.
Apply the distribution property.
-1(3x+7) + 2.
-3x - 7 + 2
Combine like terms.
-3x - 5
