A_"Trapezoid"=1/2(b_"1"+b_"2")h

Explanation:

This is always the formula for solving the area of a trapezoid, where b_"1" is base 1 and b_"2" is base 2.

If we were to solve for the area of this trapezoid, it would be

A=1/2(8+6)4
A=1/2(14)4
A=7*4
A=28"units"^2 Remember that area units are always squared

You may also see it written as

A=(a+b)/2 * h, which is still the same thing

Sidenote: You may have noticed that the 7 and 5 became negligible when solving the area, as these will never be used for area of a trapezoid.
