$x = 6, y = 3$ $x=6, y=3$

We have,

$x-y-3=0..(1) and x-2y=0...(2)$

Subtract the two equations

$(x-y-3)-(x-2y)=0$

$=>cancel(x)-y-3-cancel(x)+2y=0$

$=>y-3=0$

$=>y=3$

Substitute y=3 in 2nd equation

$x-2(3)=0$

$=>x-6=0$

$=>x=6$

There are several method to solve the equation. It depends upon your standard in which you study .

Here,

$x-y=3....to (1)$

$x-2y=0..to(2)$

From equn,(2),we get ,

$x=2y.....to(3)$

Taking $x=2y$ in equn.(1)

$2y-y=3=>y=3$

We put y=3 in equn,(3)

$x=2(3)=6$

Hence,

$x=6and y=3$
