Explanation:
During the time of the Seven years war (specifically 1754), the English sent out a fleet consisting of 5 ships and 4.000 men to capture Cuba from the Spaniards. They were very successful in doing so and suffered very few casualties. Thereafter they ruled the western part of the island for a couple of years until, in the terms of the Treaty of Paris, the English agreed to give back Cuba in exchange for the Spanish colony of Florida.
