I tried this:

Let us call our number $x$ $x$ ; we get:

$x = 4 {(\frac{x}{2})}^{2}$ $x=4(x/2)^2$

$x = x^{2}$ $x=x^2$

$x^{2} - x = 0$ $x^2-x=0$

$x (x - 1) = 0$ $x(x-1)=0$

so we have two possibilities:

or: $x = 1$ $x=1$
