$y = - 2 x + 3$ $y=-2x+3$
$y = - 4 x + 15$ $y=-4x+15$

This system represents two stright lines in plane. Observe that both lines have differente slope, so, they have a point in common

This point can be found solving the system (equalation for example)

$- 2 x + 3 = - 4 x + 15$ $-2x+3=-4x+15$
$- 2 x + 4 x = 15 - 3$ $-2x+4x=15-3$
$2 x = 12$ $2x=12$
$x = 6$ $x=6$

To find $y$ $y$ , replace $x$ $x$ value in the first (or second if you want) equation

$y = - 2 \cdot 6 + 3 = - 12 + 3 = - 9$ $y=-2·6+3=-12+3=-9$
