Whats the difference between the central nervous system & the peripheral nervous system?

The central nervous system contains the brain and the spinal cord.
The peripheral nervous system consists of (most of) the cranial nerves, except for CNII, and the efferent and afferent spinal nerves.
The peripheral nervous system can further be subdivided into the autonomic (sympathetic and parasympathetic) and somatic nervous systems.
The CNS is the receiver of data from the PNS collected throughout the body and from the environment.
