$x = \frac{5}{9} and y = \frac{8}{9}$ $x=5/9 and y=8/9$

we have
(a)....... $13 x + 2 y = 9$ $13x+2y=9$ and
(b)....... $5 x - 2 y = 1$ $5x-2y=1$
adding (a) and (b) we can eliminate y

$\Rightarrow 18 x = 10; \Rightarrow x = \frac{5}{9}$ $=>18x=10; =>x=5/9$
putting the value $x = \frac{5}{9}$ $x=5/9$ in (a) or (b) we get

$y = \frac{8}{9}$ $y=8/9$
