The $x$ intercept is the point in which the line intersects the $x$ axis.

Every point belonging to the $x$ axis has coordinates $(x,0)$ , i.e. any value for the $x$ coordinate, but the $y$ coordinate is always zero.

And this is the key for finding it: you must set $y=0$ , and solve for $x$ . In this case, it means

$12=3(x-9)$

divide both sides by $3$ :

$4=x-9$

add $9$ to both sides:

$x=13$

So, the $x$ intercept is the point $(13,0)$
