Thomson's experiment demonstrated that the beam of particles from a heated cathode had a constant charge to mass ratio. The particles were in fact electrons. The electrons showed particle properties (mass and charge).

Electrons are also diffracted when passing through a crystal (Young's double slit experiment can also be performed with an electron beam to demonstrate diffraction effects). Diffraction is a property of waves.
