It shouldn't take longer than a couple of minutes.
Explanation:
From what I remember, answers posted on a question you asked do not trigger bell notifications. At least that was the case the last time I asked a question.
In my experience, notification emails arrive minutes after the answer was posted. Sometimes it takes less time, sometimes it takes a little longer.
I would assume that the amount of time needed for an email to be sent depends on how busy the server is.
If things get a little hectic, you can expect emails to arrive maybe 5 - 10 minutes after the answer was posted.
On a day-by-day basis, I get emails, on average, about 2-3 minutes after something happens, i.e. I get a "like", or someone @mentions me, and so on.
