In fact both strontium peroxide and barium peroxide exist.

Both peroxide salts are available in the latest Aldrich catalogue. [See here for a wiki link.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strontium_peroxide)

And note that these peroxides are formally the salts of $M^{2 +}$ $M^(2+)$ , and $O_{2}^{2 -}$ $O_2^(2-)$ ions...
