Ther is no net macroscopic chemical change.

Explanation:

The salt and the acid simply speciate in aqueous solution, i.e.

NaNO_3(aq) + HCl(aq) stackrel(H_2O)rarr Na^+ + NO_3^(-) +H^+ + Cl^-

You can write the metathesis reactions if you like but there is neither a precipitate nor neutralization. We represent the "protium ion" as H^+, and we could equally represent it as the "hydronium ion", H_3O^+. We use these as shorthands to represent the acidium species in solution, which is probably a cluster of 3-4 water molecules, WITH AN EXTRA H^+ ion, i.e. H_7O_3^+ or H_9O_4^+....The extra protons exchanges rapidly, tunnels if you like, between different water clusters.
