To understand better the reaction, the ammonia is generally written as NH4OH that is ammonium hydroxide,where NH4 is like a metallic cation . So you can obtain salt and water.
2NH4OH+H2SO4=(NH4)2SO4+2H2O
But it is less right, because the ammonia is present in water as gas in solution and doesn't exist the molecula NH4OH
