A mole is simply a NUMBER......

Explanation:

See this old [answer and links.........](https://socratic.org/questions/how-should-i-study-about-moles-and-how-they-relate-to-things-like-stoichiometry)

A gram atom is a bit of an old-fashioned term, that refers to the mass of Avogadro's number of atoms............i.e. a gram atom of carbon is 12g, of oxygen is 16g, of hydrogen is 1g.

And each of these gram atoms specifies precisely Avogadro's Number of atoms, i.e. 6.022×1023mol1.
