To find the xandy -intercepts of x+y=5, you'll have to isolate x and then you'll have to isolate y.

You first need to isolate one of your variables (I chose to isolate y).

x+y=5 y=x5

You now know what the y-intercept is (5).

Then you isolate your other variable(for me its x).
x+y=5 x=y5
You now know what the y intercept is (5).
