Lipids are considered as macro-molecules because these are made up of glycerol combined with molecules of fatty acids.

Explanation:

Lipid is not a single molecule. Lipid is made up of one molecule of glycerol and 3 molecules of fatty acids.

Lipid molecule is formed by the reaction of one molecule of fatty acid at each of the 3 -OH (hydroxyl) groups of glycerol. _OH group of glycerol reacts with -COOH group of fatty acid to form glyceride with removal of water.

A lipid molecule is thus a triglyceride of glycerol, a tri-hydric alcohol.
