A gamete is a haploid (1n) sex cell.
Explanation:
Gametes are produced through meiosis. During meiosis one diploid (2n) mother cell splits into four haploid (1n) daughter cells. These haploid cells may become gametes. Gametes like sperm and egg cells combine during sexual reproduction.
