It is a process of asexual reproduction.

Explanation:

In this process, there is no meiosis (reduction division). Here, the mother cell divides mitotically (equational division) to give rise to two daughter cell having equal no of chromosomes and equal amount of cytoplasm

Eg - amoeba undergoes this process
