Using the Pythagoras theorem,
let us consider a right angled triangle ABC, right angled at "B"
AB = telephone pole = 28 feet
BC = distance between pole and point where wire touches the ground = 5 feet
CA = length of wire
applying the theorem :
784 + 25 =
809 =
CA =
