That lobbying groups have too much power in Washington.

Explanation:

For any political nerd, such as myself, it is common knowledge that lobbyists from powerful corporations or special interest groups usually can have an impact over whether legislation is passed or not. These corporations or special interest groups hire these lobbyist to try and steer legislation in their favor, or to steer legislation away that would harm them.

I don't want to get political but one prominent example is the NRA. After any shooting (such as Parkland and Vegas) there are usually calls to have gun reform. The NRA and others then have these lobbyists go out and make sure that any gun legislation doesn't affect them or their interests.

Sometimes there are corporations/special interest groups that produce their own legislation, and then give it to a politician, to pass as like the politician themselves wrote it. One such group is called ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Council).

I do agree with this cartoon because lobbyist do have too much control over Washington. Politicians want to get re-elected so they usually bow down to these groups who will usually donate money to them if they go along, or to their opponent if they don't
