Stress is a bodies reaction to a real or imagined threat to its well-being or survival, that starts in the mind as a response to the perceived threat, and then travels throughout the entire body.
Explanation:
Stress varies greatly from individual to individual, and it may vary in the same person depending on the time of day, location, or other circumstances.
Stress can be triggered by small things like having to wait in line, or traffic jams, or it may result from more urgent problems like a sudden change in a relationship or a threat to ones safety.
In response, the mind sends out immediate commands that may tense up muscles and increase heart rate and blood flow. There will be additional sugars or an adrenalin rush, and attention levels peak.
After the problem or threat is over and calmer life operation resumes, the stress indicators above should dissipate as life returns to normal. If not, the stress may remain on a more continuous basis and it can become perilous to a body's health.
