lower plants have but higher plants lack it

Explanation:

in plants centriole is absent and the spindles in the poles of the cells of plants are broader when compared to the cells of animals.

research is still going on to decipher this.

lower plant having flagella do possess centriole at the base of flagella and it does support cell division along with movement of the cell.

there are broad spindles formed, from following in plants
1. the centrosome

  1. polar organizers

  2. plastid MTOCs (microtubule organizing center)

  3. nuclear envelope MTOCs
